Air Pumps & Car Care

How to choose a tyre inflator and car care tools

Why have your own tyre inflator?

Tyre pressure drops as the weather gets colder, and under-inflated tyres wear faster and grip the road less. With your own inflator you can check and top up the pressure in a few minutes without driving to a petrol station. The recommended pressure for your car is usually on a sticker in the driver's door frame or on the fuel filler flap.

What to look for in an inflator

• Cordless or 12 V socket? A cordless, battery-powered inflator has no cables to deal with and works just as well for a bike or a ball. The FIT2 RLA-2401 (our best seller) has a 4000 mAh battery and charges via USB-C.
• Maximum pressure. Car tyres usually need 2–3 bar, while a 150 PSI (10.3 bar) inflator also handles bike tyres, which need more.
• Auto stop. Set the target pressure and the inflator stops when it gets there, so you can't over-inflate. The RLA-2401 shows the pressure on a display with ±0.05 bar accuracy.
• Modes and a light – separate modes for tyres and balls, plus an LED light for the dark.

Tread depth gauge

Before winter, it's worth checking that your tyres are still fit for the road. In winter, tread depth must meet the minimum set by Lithuanian traffic rules – and the deeper it is, the better the tyre grips on snow. A digital gauge shows the depth in millimetres in seconds – measure at several points on each tyre.

Car jack

The low-profile hydraulic jack (2.5 t, lifting range 85–380 mm) fits under even lowered cars and is made for changing wheels in a garage. Important: never get under a car held up only by a jack – use axle stands.

Other useful tools

• Electric air pump (50 W, 380 l/min) inflates a mattress, pool or boat and deflates it again. It runs on 230 V mains or a car's 12 V socket.
• Battery-powered fluid pump transfers fuel, oil or water without sucking through a hose.
• FIT2 LC-623 cordless handheld vacuum picks up crumbs from the car interior, and its blower mode clears dust from gaps.

For road trips you may also need car chargers and phone holders.
