You can drop off old electronics and batteries for free, wherever you bought them. As an importer, we contribute to their collection and recycling as a member of the Lithuanian Organisation of Electronics Producers and Importers (VšĮ „Elektronikos gamintojų ir importuotojų organizacija“). Here is where and how to do it.
- Free of charge
- Wherever you bought it
- Broken devices accepted too
Where to drop off
-
Collection from your home
UAB „Man rūpi rytojus“, the organisation's partner for electronic and battery waste, collects larger or multiple appliances from your home free of charge.
-
Drop-off points
Small devices and batteries can be left at drop-off points, found in many shopping centres and shops across Lithuania.
-
For businesses
Businesses can also hand in accumulated electronics and batteries free of charge – a collection from your office or warehouse can be booked online.
The booking pages are in Lithuanian.
Batteries and power banks
Lithium batteries can catch fire if their terminals touch. Remove batteries that come out easily (e.g. AA, AAA), hand them in separately and cover their terminals with tape. Do not take apart devices with built-in batteries – power banks, massagers, clippers – hand in the whole device.
Battery swollen or getting hot?
Stop charging and using it. Keep it somewhere non-flammable, away from anything that can burn, and take it to a drop-off point as soon as you can, telling the staff it is damaged.
What the crossed-out bin symbol means
This symbol on a device, battery or packaging means the product must not be thrown away with household waste. It may contain substances harmful to the environment and health, as well as valuable materials that can be recycled.
