RETOO E392 — Bring Your SCART Devices Into the HDMI Era
If you have a modern TV but still own a DVD player, VCR, satellite receiver or retro gaming console with SCART output, you have a problem: most new TVs no longer include a SCART socket. The RETOO E392 SCART-to-HDMI converter solves this perfectly. It actively converts the analogue SCART signal into a clean digital HDMI Full HD output, so your old equipment looks great on any modern television.
Active conversion with built-in scaler
This is not a passive cable adapter — it's an active scaler converter. The internal chip upconverts the standard-definition SCART signal to crisp 1080p or 720p HDMI output (selectable via a small side switch). The result: better image stability, no signal loss, no flickering — just clean video and audio over a single HDMI cable to your TV.
Works with all SCART devices
The E392 is compatible with virtually any device that has a SCART (Euro AV) output:
- DVD players — keep your DVD collection alive on a 4K TV
- VCR / video tape players — digitise old family videos
- Satellite receivers / set-top boxes — old Sky boxes, decoders
- PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2 — retro PS gaming on modern TVs
- Xbox (original), Wii — classic console gaming
- SEGA, Nintendo SNES/N64 with SCART adapters
- Older camcorders with SCART output
- Vintage TV tuners
Easy 3-step setup
- Connect the SCART plug from your old device to the converter's SCART input
- Connect an HDMI cable from the converter's HDMI output to your TV
- Plug in the included DC 5V power adapter — power LED lights up, you're done
No drivers, no software, no settings. Switch your TV to the correct HDMI input and start watching.
Compact, neat design
At just 88 × 58 × 20 mm, the E392 is small enough to tuck behind your TV stand or AV cabinet. The matte-black finish blends with most home theatre setups. The clearly labelled SCART (input) and HDMI (output) sides eliminate confusion during setup.
Built-in features
- 720p / 1080p switch — choose the resolution that best fits your TV
- Power LED — instantly see when the device is active
- DC 5V input with included EU power adapter
- Audio + video over a single HDMI cable
- Plug-and-play — works the moment it's connected
Why an active converter, not a cable?
Cheap "SCART-to-HDMI cables" are just wire connectors with no electronics — they don't actually convert the signal, so they fail on most modern TVs. The E392 contains a real scaler chip that does proper analogue-to-digital conversion. It works reliably with any HDMI display, exactly as advertised.
