RETOO E807 Cat Ear Headphones — wireless, lit up, and hard to lose

Two things make children actually wear these: the ears glow in shifting rainbow colours, and so does the paw print on the outside of each cup. Underneath the styling is a normal, competent pair of over-ear Bluetooth 5.0 headphones with 40 mm drivers, a microphone and a 400 mAh battery that runs about eight hours — enough for a school day plus the drive home.

Connectivity is where they earn their place. Bluetooth pairs with a phone or tablet in seconds and reaches about ten metres. If a school device has no Bluetooth, the supplied 3.5 mm cable turns them into ordinary wired headphones. And a microSD card slot lets them play music with no source device at all — useful in the car or on a plane, and it means a flat battery on the tablet does not end the trip.
