RETOO O848 steam iron, 1500 W

A straightforward steam iron for everyday household ironing. The teflon-coated soleplate glides over fabric and reduces sticking, the 150 ml tank is easy to fill and empty, and steam output is set with a knob on the handle — from full steam down to dry ironing. A spray dampens stubborn creases at any temperature, and the self-clean function flushes limescale out through the soleplate.

How to use it

• Filling. Always unplug the iron first, set the steam control to the no-steam position, open the filling inlet and fill up to the maximum mark. Use water only — no additives, scents or starch. In hard-water areas distilled water keeps the soleplate clear for longer. Empty the tank after use.
• Ironing. Set the temperature according to the care symbols on the garment label. The indicator light stays on while the iron heats up and goes out once the set temperature is reached. When steam comes out of the soleplate with the iron held horizontally, it is ready for steam ironing.
• Delicate synthetics. Set a medium temperature, wait for the indicator light to go out, then switch the steam on.
• Spray. Press the spray button to dampen stubborn creases at any temperature.
• Dry ironing. Set the steam control to 0.
• Note. Standing the iron upright stops steam production — this model is not intended for steaming hanging garments.

Self-clean

Clean the iron regularly, depending on how often you use it and how hard your water is — in hard-water areas at least once every two weeks. Set the steam control to no steam, turn the temperature to maximum, fill the tank to the maximum mark, heat the iron until the indicator light goes out, unplug it, hold it horizontally over a sink and press the self-clean button. Boiling water and steam flush the dirt out of the soleplate — rock the iron gently back and forth while this happens. The water and steam are very hot. Wipe the soleplate with an old cloth afterwards.

Important — safety

• The soleplate and the steam are very hot. Never iron or steam clothes while they are being worn, and do not direct steam at people or animals.
• Risk of electric shock — never put the iron, cord or plug in water or any other liquid. Do not use the iron near a sink or washbasin.
• Always unplug the iron before filling or emptying the tank, before cleaning, immediately after use, and whenever you leave it — even briefly.
• Use and rest the iron on a stable surface only. Do not use the iron if it is damaged or leaking; a damaged cord may only be replaced by a qualified specialist.
• Before connecting, check that the local mains voltage matches the rating on the appliance.
• Not a toy. Keep the iron and its cord out of the reach of children.
• Clean with a soft cloth only. Do not use corrosive agents, bleaches, solvents or abrasive surfaces, nor acetone, ammonia, formic acid, methanol or products containing them.
• For household use only; not suitable for commercial use.
