How to use

• Fill the tank only with the iron unplugged and resting horizontally, and never above the MAX mark. Distilled water is recommended, especially in hard-water areas.
• The indicator light stays on while the iron heats up and goes out when the set temperature is reached.
• Steam is produced only at high temperature settings. When the indicator changes colour to blue, stop the steam supply; resume steam ironing when the colour changes again.
• For dry ironing, set the steam control to the off position.
• Some smoke may appear the first time the iron is used. This is normal and stops quickly.
• Empty the water tank after every use and let the iron cool down before storing it.

Self-cleaning

Carry out self-cleaning every two weeks, and more often if your tap water is very hard. Unplug the iron and switch the steam off, fill the tank to MAX, plug in and set the maximum temperature, unplug once the maximum temperature is reached, hold the iron horizontally soleplate-down over a sink and turn the knob to the self-clean position — hot water, steam and deposits will run out of the soleplate. After about a minute, or when the tank is empty, return the knob to its normal position, plug in again, set the maximum temperature and iron an old cloth to drain any residue. Never turn the knob to the cleaning position while ironing.

Important — safety

• The soleplate, the steam and the water leaving it are extremely hot. Never direct steam at people or animals.
• Check that the mains voltage and rating match the data on the iron’s rating plate.
• Never leave the iron unattended while it is plugged in, including on the ironing board.
• Always unplug the iron before filling the water tank.
• Do not immerse the iron, the cord or the plug in water or any other liquid.
• Do not use the iron if the cord or plug is damaged, if it has been dropped or if it leaks. Repairs may only be carried out by a qualified service.
• Pull the plug, not the cord. Keep the cord away from hot surfaces and table edges.
• Use and stand the iron only on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface.
• This is not a toy. Keep the iron and its cord out of the reach of children, especially while it is hot or cooling down.
