Temperature levels by fabric

A blinking orange digit on a black background means the soleplate is heating up; a red digit on a black background means heating is complete. Steam requires a temperature setting of WOOL or higher.

How to use

• Filling with water. Unplug the iron or remove the tank from the appliance before filling. Use pure distilled or steam water only — tap water and other liquids must not be used. Do not exceed the maximum water level.
• Dry ironing. Set the temperature with the + and − keys; when the indicator lights up, the iron is ready. Do not turn the steam knob on during dry ironing.
• Steam ironing. Fill the tank, set the temperature to WOOL or above, and after heating open the steam knob. Turn the knob back to the closed position to stop the steam.
• Steam burst. Set the temperature to WOOL or above and press the steam button after heating — a strong burst of steam is released from the soleplate.
• Spray. Press the spray button and water is injected from the nozzle at the tip of the iron.
• Low temperature protection. To stop water dripping from the soleplate holes at low temperatures, steam is not supplied until the soleplate is hot enough.
• Automatic shut-off. Left lying flat or on its side the iron switches off after 30 seconds; standing on its heel it switches off after 8 minutes (±15 seconds).
• The iron has a self-cleaning button, an LED light and a swivel cord head.

Important — safety

• Use pure distilled or steam water only; never tap water or other liquids.
• The socket must be properly earthed and the mains voltage must match the rating of the appliance.
• Always unplug the iron before filling the tank and never exceed the maximum water level.
• Do not immerse the iron in water or any other liquid. For indoor household use only — commercial use is prohibited.
• Use and place the iron on a stable surface only.
• Do not use an iron with a dropped or damaged cord, and stop using it altogether if the water tank leaks.
• Never leave the iron unattended while it is switched on.
• Children aged 8 to 14 and persons with disabilities must be supervised. Keep the iron out of the reach of children; children must not play with it.
• Do not let the cord touch the hot soleplate. Let the iron cool down completely before storing and coil the cord gently around it.
• Do not repair or replace the power cord yourself — incorrect assembly causes a risk of electric shock; contact the seller's service centre or a qualified technician.
• A small amount of smoke on first use is normal and will not occur again. After unpacking, check that the appliance is undamaged.
• Never aim the steam at people or animals — risk of burns. Do not touch the hot soleplate or other hot surfaces with your hand.

Cleaning

• Do not start cleaning until the iron has cooled down completely.
• Clean the soleplate and the body with a damp cotton cloth. Do not use rough or hard objects — they scratch the soleplate.
• For heavier soiling use a damp cloth with a neutral detergent. Do not use strong acids or alkalis.
• Remove impurities from the steam holes of the soleplate with a wooden (bamboo) stick.
• Wait until the soleplate has cooled completely before packing the iron away.
